Abstract This paper presents and compares some new techniques for source boundaries detection using potential
- field data. The geologic boundaries ofpaleo- fault zone and faults in ShanxiProvincew ith better resolution are
recognized by the follow ing m ethods: tilt derivative ( TDR), total horizontal gradient of theTDR and thetamap,
etc. . The results indicated that thenew detection technology ismore effective and accurate than the traditionalhori
zontalgradient one and can gathermore geological information.
