Step 1.Organizing the teaching
Greetings
Sing the Monday song
Step 2. Revision
Review clothes the Ss have mastered: jeans, skirt, blouse, boots, hat, pants, sweater, scarf, shoes, socks, jacket and glasses.
Review locations and the structure “Let’s go to the ____ (location) to ____ (verb) ____ (noun).” With an object –prompt drill.
Object Phrase
pot Let’s go to the kitchen to make supper.
soap Let’s go to the bathroom to wash hands.
clothes Let’s go to the shop to buy ____.
book Let’s go to the library to read a book.
Step 3.Key concepts: basketball, ping pong, sport, runners, shorts, T-shirt
Introduce:
Introduce “basketball” and “ping-pong” with real equipment. To introduce “sport” use phrases such as Ping pong /Basketball is a sport.
What are ping pong /basketball? A sport.
We play ping pong and basketball.
We play sport.
b. Introduce “runners” “shorts” and “T-shirt” with real clothes.
Student book:
Review the story so far. Liming has come to Canada to stay with Jenny’s family. He has learned many things about Canda. Look at the pictures in the student book.
Note the word “need” in this lesson.
Note the word “store”. It’s a shop.
Play the audiotape as the Ss follow along their books.
Practice:
Play “Go Fish” with the new vocabulary and any other vocabulary.
六、Students’ activity:
Sing the English song “The Monday song”.
Question—and---answer drill with pictures of clothes.
