China xdkevin@ Abstract: Applied cryptography, as a course, is highly practical. This paper explores a comprehensive “point-line-plane” teaching method of cryptography starting from the critical issues in class teaching and ex- perimental teaching. Specifically, the “point” or various cryptographical algorithms and protocols can form all kinds of applicable combination, i.e. the “line”, and they can be covered by elaborately designed network se- curity experiments or the “plane”. Aimed to strengthen the understanding of cryptography knowledge and meanwhile cultivate the ability of engineering application of cryptography for students, a close combination of theory and practice is realized in the teaching of cryptography so that a feasible scheme is provided for cul- tivation of application-type cryptography talents.
