A bstrac t: The styles in interpreting play an mi portan t role in cross- cu ltu ral communication. Th is paper introduces the
types, characters and functions of interpreting styles. In terpreting Styles are analyzed from the perspective of Adaptation
Theory, and it is argued that styles of target language shou ld be adapted to the context of its use, to those of the original
language, to hearers. acceptance and the dynam ic process of styles in interpreting. Then techn iques are put forwards to mi -
prove interpreters. aw areness and their ability to interpret the styles of the original language.
