Method: Using Chisquare and two stage sam ling survey to figure out the requirement of medical serviceby urban o ulation at Shanghai Street in Fuzhou. Re sults: The revalence of chronic diseases was 23. 00% . Twoweek revalence was 34. 49%. Twoweek visiting rate was 16.72% . The annual in atient ratewas 5. 70%. Age and education were the main influencefactors of therequirement and utilization of medical service. Conclusion: Com aring to rural areas, therewere some characteristics of high medical service demand, low out atient service utilization and lower health status in urban o ulation of community at Shanghai Street in Fuzhou.
