Abstract:A friction。basedlimited。slipdifferentialjsusedto ensurethatthewheelsonbothsides
ofthedriveaxlemoveatdifferentrotationalspeeds.The differentialautomaticallychangesthe
distributionoftorqMebetweenthedrivewheelsdependingonroadconditionstoimprovethepas-
sagecapaci~ ofavehicle。Basedonthenew friction-basedlimited-slipdifferentialofimpoRed
driveaxleofheavyvehicles.afiniteelementanalysisofstructure strength hasbeenconducted
ondifferentialhousingforvariousworkcases.Theresultsindicatethatthestructuralstrengthand
stiffnessofthedifferentialhousingmeettherequirementsofvehicledrivingkinematics.Thesere—
suitsalsoprovideatheoreticalbasisforanimproveddesignandstructuraloptimizationofdiffer·
entialhousing.
