[Abstract] Objective:To study puerarin ophthalm ic ge.l Methods: Release behavior of PUE gel
in three formulations of hydro gel w as explored in a dissolution apparatus under stirring conditions. The
content and the release amount of puerarin from the gel basew ere determ ined byUV. The cornea perm e
ation test of gel formu lationsw as stud iedw ith rabb it corneas. The perm eation amount of puerarin w as de
term ined by h igh performance liqu id chromatography. Results: The formulation in vitro release behavior
follow ed H iguch i equation. The in vitro perm eation behavior follow ed the zeroorder k inetic equation.
Conclusion: Puerarin ophthalm ic gel has longer release tmi e than that of eye drops.
