T he typ es o f electro-optic cry sta ls, the e lectro-optic crysta l research statu s and deve lopm ent trends a re descr ibed. A m o re deta iled description o f prop erties and app lication s o f the b ar ium m etaborate crysta l ( the f irst o f the / Ch ina Brand0 crystal discove red by ch inese sc ientists in 19 85 ) , potassium titan ium ox ide phospha te and rub id ium titan ium ox ide pho sph ate cry sta l, lanthanum ga llium silica te cry stals are presented.
