Communication with tags There are external and internal tags. For communication with a controller external tags are needed. An external tag maps a defined memory area in the controller. Controller and HMI device have read and write access to this memory area. Read and write actions can be cyclic or event triggered. Communication with area pointers Area pointers are used to exchange data between controller and HMI through predefined data areas. With the interpretation of the values controller and HMI device can perform predefined actions. During communication controller and HMI device can write to this data area alternately.
