To a certain extent, it is restricting and affecting the social development course. In the present study, conflict talk refers to the language phenomenon in which debating, arguing, disputing, quarreling, squabbling ，talking back ，wrangling and so on, arise while conversational participants are opposing each other by means of talking. Although people are concerned with various conflict phenomena in daily life, domestic scholars have not been doing an enough research for that, in particular the conflict talk between different generations which is still a field seldom scholars have set foot in. Based on the data of father-son conflict talks in TV series Country Love, this study integrates sociolinguistics, speech act, conversation analysis and relevant power theory to investigate two main issues in the Chinese socio-cultural setting: the first, what are the patterns of father-son disputes normally undergoing three stage s – initiating, escalating and terminating; what and how managing strategies are used by both thes
