The results betw een several existing determ inationmethods are differences. Therefore, it is urgent to find a standardmethodwhich is fast, accurate and convenient. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of ex isting methods for the analysis of V itam in E in various sample matrices including colormi etry, spectroscopy, electrochemical analysis and chromatogra- phy, etc. The fields of applicability and the advantage or disadvantage of these different analyticalmethods were dis- cussed, and it is emphasized on the application of high performance liquid chromatography (HPL ) and detectors in the analysis of vitam in E. The problem s at present and the potentials are also proposed.
