The IEC 61970-301(CIM) standard was established to solve the different power system model. Firstly,the paper analysises the Common Information Model (CIM),and summarizes the modeling method using CIM and how to expand CIM according to the practical application.On this basis,the mapping between object module and relational database is proposed,and established CIM model in the Relation Database SQL Server 2000 and the Real-time Database. Secondly, the power grid topology analysis, which adoptes the definition method of power grid topology referenced in CIM, is researched.
