US—ChinaEducationReview B，1SSN 2161-6248 August2014，Vo1．4，No．8，573·581 a Ll暑 H lN 6 SuperstitiousBeliefsHeldBythePeopleofIlorin， KwaraState，Nigeria Abdulsalam BilikisAdenike IsaacOlakanmiAbimbola，MulkahAdebisiAhmed FederalUniversityofTechnology，Minna，Nigeria Universityofllorin，Ilorin，Nigeria Thisstudyexaminedthescientificexplanationsandeducationalimplicationsofsuperstitiousbeliefsheldbythe peopleofflorininKwaraState，Nigeria．A totalnumberof250respondentswerepurposivelysampledacrossthe threelocalgovernmentareas(LGAs)inIlorinmetropolis，namely，IlorinSouth，llorinWest，andIlorinEast．The instrumentusedforthestudywasresearchdesignedinterview protoco1．Theinterview protocolwastofindoutthe superstitiousbeliefsheldby thepeopleofllorinmetropolisand toprovidetheirscientificexplanations．Four researchquestionswereraisedandanswered．Thedatacollectedweresubjectedtorfequencycounts，percentages， andchartpresentation．TheresultsshowedthatthepeopleofllorinSouth，IlorinWest，andIlorinEastheldsome superstitiousbeliefsaboutnutrition，mensturation，health，diseases，death，heredity barrenness，animals，birth，， familyplanning，growth，pregnancy，andwater．Thesuperstitiousbeliefscollatedandtheirscientificexplanations undergonebothfaceandcontentvalidationbythreeexpertsfrom theDepartmentofScienceEducation University ，
