At direction of the Chief Officer and with assistance of other personnel as required, the 3rd Officer is responsible to inspect, test and maintain all ship’s life-saving appliances as scheduled in this checklist to ensure that they are maintained effectively in place and in ready use condition. Reports any deficiency if found during inspections / tests to Chief Officer, and take effective actions for maintenance, repair or replacement immediately.
