A psycholinguistic analysis of speech errors in PSC   中图分类号:H319 文献标识码: A 文章编号:1672-1578(2013)10-0003-03   1 Introduction and Literature Review   PSC(Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi, The Test For Mandarin Level) is a standard test of oral mandarin in China, which conclude testers’ level on phonetic sound, vocabulary and syntax. One of the test types in PSC is called “Speech”, in which testers are given a topic by sortition and then required to make a 3 minutes’ speech about the topic. Usually testers will have several minutes to prepare for the speech.   Previous researches shows that testees always make many speech errors in“speech” test, which excited our interest to consider in detail about the psychological reasons of these errors. I will use the classification by Clark et., i.e. pauses, repeats, false states, non-repeat falses, corrections, interjections, stutters and slips of the tongue to classify the errors by the testees, and analysis the errors through the formulating and implementing of linguistic plans. The significance of this research is to find out the feature and psycholinguistic reasons of speech errors in Chinese and help PSC testees to perform better in the test.   2 Methodology   2.1 Participants   I have made experiments with fourteen participants from twenty-three to twenty-six years’ old, including one male and thirteen females. All of them are university students and have been raised in Mainland China, eleven of them are monolingual speakers of Mandarin, three bilingual in Cantonese and Mandarin. fifteen of the participants have been taken part in PSC before, their Putonghua levels range from 2-B to 1-B (including 2-B, 2-A and 1-B).   2.2 Procedure   I imitate the procedure of the Speech Test part of PSC, first of all I show the speech topic to the participant, there are two topics for each participant, i.e.“我喜欢的明星或其他知名人士(My favourite star or other famous people) ”and “谈谈科技发展与社会生活(Talk about the development of science and daily life)”, each
