Result: 1.The diverse meanings of Shen in Huangdi Neijing inherit from the philosophers in pre-qin period. In the book Huangdi Neijing, the Theory of Jing and Qi is the framework and the Theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements are adopted as methods to organize the Shen system info in TCM. It is a development and creation of Shen in pre-qin period. At the same time, the theory of Shen is immature ,therefore, it is combined not so well with the system of five elements and five internal organs. That reflects the problem in the combination between medical practical experience and philosophical theory in the Doctrine of viscera state. 2.The implication of Shen was deities and ghosts simple from the Xizhou dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period and being a adjective gradually, possessed the meaning of magical and wonderful.
