The Clinical Observation of The Method of Nourishing Yin to Reduce Pathogenic Fire AndTranquilizing By Nourishing The Heart For The Treatment of Chronic Heart Rate Increasing_ Fire Excess From Yin Deficiency Syndrome Speciality: Clinical study on the treatment of heart system disease with Traditional Chinese Medicine Tutor:Prof.Zhang Yunhui Author:Lipeng Abstract Objective: To observe the effect of “nourishing Yin to reduce pathogenic fire” and “tranquilizing by nourishing the heart” in the treatment of chronic heart rate increasing, and investigate the involved mechanism. Those researches will provide a theoretical foundation and available methods for the treatment of chronic heart rate increasing in traditional chinese medicine (TCM). Methods: Sixty appropriate patients were randomly divided into two groups: control group and test group. Control group patients were treated by metoprolol 12.5mg bid, while Tianwangbuxindan were give to test group patients, 8 pills tid. After 4 weeks’ treatment, rest heart rate changes were recorded. The effect was evaluated by a scale table which was established based on rest heart rate changes and symptom improvement after treatment. Results: The clinical research shows, after 4 weeks’ treatment, that the total effective percentage of test group is 83.3% compared with control group 86.7%(P﹥0.05), in terms of slowing rest heart rate. When it comes to symptom improvement, the total effective percentage is 43.3%, 80.0% according to control group, test group respectively (P﹤0.05).
