Research on the Mechanisms of the Medical Food with Function of Tonifying Kidney and Strengthening Yang to the Treatment of Discogenic Low Back Pain Speciality: Basic Theory of TCM Author:Liang Yingming Tutor:prof.Meng Lingjun Abstract Objective: This thesis aims at making a clear understanding of low back pain, from the angle of both TCM and western medicine, and analyzing the mechanisms of the medical food with function of tonifying kidney and strengthening yang to the treatment of discogenic low back pain. And by the clinical research, analyze and sum up the therapeutic effects of the medical food with function of tonifying kidney and strengthening yang, so as to provide methods and references to the treatment of discogenic low back pain with the medical food of TCM. Method: This thesis takes the method of the combination of document analysis and clinical research. Based on the analysis of the pathogenesis of recent years and after the systematical study of the basic theory of TCM, this thesis differentiate the mechanism and advantage of the medical food with function of tonifying kidney and strengthening yang in curing discogenic low back pain. The research selected 180 patients with discogenic low back pain from RenJi hospital, XiYuan hospital and Wanhua Hospital of TaiWan, and divided them into 2 groups randomly. One of the group was given the routine and conservative treatment, and combined with the medical food with function of tonifying kidney and strengthening yang. The other (Group 2) is only given the routine and conservative treatment.
