Clinical research for titanic elastic nailing fixation in pediatric long bone fractures Speciality: Orthopedics of TCM Author:Cui Chao Tutor:prof.Li li Abstract Abstract Objective ：To evaluate the curative effect of titanic elastic nailing fixation in long bone fractures in children. Methods ：We retrospective 57 cases of pediatric limbs long bone fractures who had been treated with titanic elastic nailing in our hospital between 2008.8～2010.8. Among them, 24 cases were femur fractures. 12 cases were ulna or radius fractures, 12 cases were fracture of collum radiuand, 4 cases were Humeral fractures and 5 cases were tibia fractures .We reviewed the union of fractures and the condition of function. The case were between 3 to 14 years old ，the average was 8.5 years old. With closed reduction or a small incision reset . Results ：All cases have been followed up over 2 months to 18 months, average was 10 months. All cases were recovered excellent (the rate was 100%). No postoperative infection, nonunion, elastic intramedullary nail fracture malunion and epiphyseal injuries and other complications . Conclusion: Titanic elastic nailing might be an effective therapeutic approach for long bone fractures in children. It has advantages compared with traditional methods not influence blood circulation in marrow in jury and not damage the epiphyseal plate, So it is effective therapeutic approach for pediatric limbs long bone fractures.
