Clinical Research of Locking compression plate for treatment of pilon fractures Speciality:Orthopaedics of TCM Author:yue gueng Tutor:Prof.menkai abstract Objective:To explore the clinical effect of the locking compression plate (locked, LCP) for the teatment fractures.Methods:20 cases of Pilon fractures from Jun.2008to Jun.2010 were treated with Locking compression plate ，including 17 male and 8 female.The ages of the subjects were 18～76 years(average 47age)..19 cases are in the left side,and 6 cases are in the right side.In 25cases,2 casesof sports injury,one cases of traffic injury,17 cases for the fall;17 cases of acute injury,3cases of old injury ．All cases were treated by locking compression plate and earlypostoperative functional exercise for ankle .We use the ankle and foot subjective assessment standards(AOFAS)score fracture treatment efficacy assessment.Results ：All the patients were available for folow-up after the operation from 6 to20 months.They were healed after the reoperation.The healing time varied from 3 to 6 months,averaged 4.2months.Infection,nerve and vascular injury ，plate fracture and screw assessment standards(AOFAS) scoring systemfor fracture treatmentefficacy assessment ，the fine rate of joint function was 80.4 ％ Conclusions ：LCP can provide the stabilization of the fracture，decrease the rate of local blood circulation disorder and be conducive to the early functional training and functional rehabilitation.It is an effective method in the treatment of Pilon fractures.
