Clinical research of Gu-Shi-Tang in the treatment of early avascular necrosis of femoral head in adult Speciality: Joint Orthopaedic of Traditional Chinese Medicine Tutor: Prof. Qiu Hongming Author: Zhu Jiaping Abstract Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Gu-Shi-Tang in treating early avascular necrosis of femoral head and explore its pathogenesis of avascular necrosis of femoral head in adult. Methods: Select 50 patients who met the diagnosis for early avascular necrosis (Ficat stage Ⅰ～Ⅱperiod), randomly divided into two groups. Treatment group, 30 patients were treated with Gu-Shi-Tang treatment; while 20 patients in the control group with Xian Ling Gubao capsule. Evaluate the improvement of clinical symptom according to the differences in scores before and after treatment by Harris score. Results: Clinical studies show that the clinical efficacy of treatment group which treated with GuShi Tang is significantly better than the control group which applied Xian Ling Gubao capsule. Total effectiveness in the treatment group was 100%, while the control group was 80.00%. Conclusion: Treatment of Gu-Shi-Tang in early avascular necrosis of patients can significantly improve the clinical symptoms, but can block the course of femoral head necrosis in the development process of necrosis of femoral head to be completely cured for further research.
