Compared w ith the existing methods using energy functions based on smi plifiedmodels to approxmi ate the region of stability, them ethod proposed in th is paper could exactly determ ine the realboundary of the region of stability, wh ich precludes the conservativeness brought by the existing methods. Th is offers the precise information of the region of stab ility for critical clearing tmi e de term ination and parameter design of this k ind of system.
