Make full use of solar light can not only save increasingly reduce non-renewable energy sources, and can reduce the pollution to the environment, which makes solar energy society be an important energy. Solar LED street light is a solar energy application examples in real life, so it is widely attention and research in recent years. This paper designs a kind of intelligent solar LED street light system. It is based on AT89S51 as the core, through the optical detection and battery power, to set function by microcomputer. In this paper, the concrete content includes solar power at home and abroad present situation and the working principle, scheme selection, component selection, system hardware, software design and the improvement direction of the system. The systems hardware design mainly includes the SCM smallest system, storage battery charging and discharging control circuit, main circuit and assistant circuit voltage conversion circuit, A/D conversion circuit, main circuit and assistant circuit of switching circuit, light intensity detection circuit, power circuit, communication circuit of system and the upper machine, temperature detection.
