The risk was level above a certain Cum%VP (40%) in the DDDR mode and level below a certain percentage (80%) in the VVIR mode. These results imply that the risk of HFH in the DDDR mode does not increase with further increases in Cum%VP above 40%, but this risk might be reduced to about 2% if ventricular pacing is minimized (i.e. paced less than 10%). * * The MVP mode is designed to convert to the appropriate mode of operation in the presence of AT/AF. Specifically, the device will use the 4 of 7 Mode Switch criteria to determine if an atrial tachyarrhythmia is in progress while the device is operating in either AAI(R) or DDD(R) mode. The 4 of 7 criteria requires that four of the previous 7 A-A intervals be faster than the Mode Switch detection rate before the device will mode switch. Note: Blanked Flutter Search only operates in the DDD(R) mode. AAI(R)+ has a short enough blanking time following A- and V-events that it is not needed for arrhythmia detection.
