There used to be an erroneous belief that a social worker was either a caseworker,a group worker, or a community organizer. Practicing social workers know that such a belief is faulty because even social worker is involved as a change agent in working with individuals groups ,and community groups.The amount of time spent at these levels varies from worker to worker but every worker will , at times, be assigned and expected to work at these three levels and therefore needs training in all of them.   The generalist social worker, the equivalent of the general practitioner
