Thus, the communications between china and America are increasingly important and frequent. As one important aspect of culture which influences the success of communication activities, the study of facial values is putting into agenda. Firstly, in this thesis, it explains the definitions of facial values as well as communication activities. Besides, it presents an overview of this thesis. Then, the paper mainly talks about the different understandings of face and degrees of concern with face between Chinese and Americans in the process of communication activities.
