Abstract Dragon Boat sport is a set of hand-drawn on a number of single blade of the paddle as a way forward，using muscular strength to the vessel after the water，promoting the little boat forward movement. And Dragon Boat is also a national traditional sports. “United struggle， the same boat”，the dragon spirit is the spirit of the most representative of the Chinese nation. Whether the ancient Dragon Boat Racing or Dragon Boat movement at present，in addition to production、worship、entertainment、fitness、sports functions，in essence，a dragon boat belonging to the spirit of sports and cultural areas，which along with the continuous development of social development，continued to this day，always maintained a strong national characteristics and style. Report to the Seventeenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China point that “enhance the national cultural soft power ” “vigorously develop cultural industries”，“prosper the cultural market”and We will explore and better protect the cultures of all ethnic groups，attach great importance to the protection of cultural relics and intangible cultural heritage，and enhance the influence of Chinese culture worldwide. This means a new proposition for ethnic traditional sports. Particularly，the ongoing upsurge of non-material cultural heritage protection for the revitalization of traditional national sports provides a rare historical opportunity. In this paper，China’s dragon boat sport and cultural connotation，to explore the social function，analysing and researching the development and promotion of the dragon boat sport and culture for the purpose of finding the problems in the developing process .
