Methods: The critically ill patients conformed the conditions were randomly divided into JEVITY or Ensure group. The gastrointestinal complications and systemic inflammatory markers changes were observed. The data was processed by using SPSS 16.0 software. Count data such as the occurrence of diarrhea and constipation were compared with χ2 test. Measurement data (inflammatory markers) were compared with t test. Corresponding P values was setted to compare the difference was between group and within the group. Result：The system inflammation index were no statistical difference between JEVITY and Ensure groups. There was no statistical difference within the Ensure groups while the comparison within JEVITY groups showed statistical significant difference. (After three days of enteral nutrition500ml, the TNFa decreased significantly compared with that in the beginning and there as statistically significant, p=0.0230.05; After five days of enteral nutrition500ml the TNFa and IL-6 decreased with significant difference. p=0.018 and p=0.0330.05). Within the group comparison results suggest JEVITY can reduce the systemic inflammatory response in critically ill patients. The Intestinal tolerability were compared between JEVITY and Ensure groups.
