Unit1. How many people are there in your family?
Teaching objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. listen and understand the conversation about introducing family.
2. say in English the new words of the name of family members.
3. talk about and introduce one’s family members: using the pattern: “How many people are there in your family?”, “There are…”, “ Have you got any…?”, “Yes, I have. No, I haven’t”.
Key points: Master the new words: aunt, grandfather, grandmother, grandparents, uncle, have got.
Review the pattern “How many people are there in your family?”, “There are…”.
Learn the new structures: “Have you got…?”, “Yes, I have. No, I haven’t”.
Difficult points: have=have got, has=has got
Teaching aids: Tape, recorder and blackboard, pictures.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Lead in (5 mins):
1. Do the activity: ask and answer: (review the sentence pattern: How many ……..are there……..)
T: Good afternoon, class. How are you today? Before our class, I want to ask you some questions.

3. How many books are there in your desk?

T: OK, today, we are going to learn a new unit: “how many people are there in your family?”
(Teacher comes to the blackboard to the write down the title: How many people are there in your family?)
Step2 (5mins) Review the words: father, mother, brother, sister and learn the new words: grandfather, grandmother, grandparents, uncle, aunt.
