Abstract With the great improvement in biological technology，the rapid development of the national economics，the premonitions of recessions of human existance and the enforcement of diathesis education，the biological courses in middle schools become more and more important，not only for individuals to grow up，but for the nation to develop．An investigation has been made which is concerned with the basic situation of twenty one middle schools in Lucheng county：the biological courses offered，the constitution the of biological teachers of different ages，who have different eduational background and different professional titles． The establishment of biological labs and the technicians disposed in them．the experimental courses and the extra--curricular activities have also been investigated．From the investigations we can draw a conclusion that more improvement has been made in biological education in middle schools， which includes the classroom teaching，the great attention paid to teaching researches and the establishment 0f biological economic model．The problems are really complexed，which involve the status of the biological science，the qualities of the biological teachers，the ideas of the diathesis education．and the teaching of the biological experiments．In the last part of this essay．suggestions are given that something should be done to improve the biological teaching in the middle schools of our county to meet the need of the society development and the diathesis education． Keywords：Biological teaching Investigation 引 言 “如果说二十世纪是物理学世纪，二十一世纪就是生物学世纪”。1953年 美国科学家沃森和英国科学家克里克发现了脱氧核糖核酸(DNA)的基本结 构，1973年美国科学家科恩和博耶重组DNA获得成功，开辟了生物工程这门 科学技术，并转化成多种产业。生物工程现已广泛应用于农业、食品、畜牧、海 洋开发、生态平衡、环境保护、能源和采矿等部门，它将为解决世界性难题：如 粮食短缺、疾病和能源枯竭等带来希望。为此作为生物学基础教育的中学生物 教育，便肩负着重要的历史责任。 由于历史原因．生物教育发展的道路崎岖坎坷：在94年生物被取消高考 资格后，中学生物教育又一次跌入“低谷”。中学生物教育现状不容乐观：许多 学校不重视生物课，不能按生物教学大纲的要求完成教学任务。这种情况造成 学生片面发展，不符合素质教育的要求，主要表现为：重知识、轻能力；重主课、 轻副课等。就现在仍坚守在工作岗位上的教师而言，有些老师浑浑噩噩，教学 没热情，没激情，缺乏敬业精神；有些教师积极上进，身边却没有中、高级教师 的帮教等，所有这些，都促使我
