Unit Four Government Central government The British central government, also called Her Majesty’s Government is the highest executive of Great Britain which take charge of the administration of national affairs. It came into being in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. And it emerged out of the Privy Council when the body grew to large for effective discussion. The Cabinet today is composed of about 20 ministers headed by the Prime Minister. But the number of the members is not fixed.
