* Using retrospective evaluation in a multicenter study of more than 3000 patients with different tumor types, DeWys and colleagues reported moderate to severe weight loss in 30% to 70% of patients. As shown on this slide, the amount of weight loss was related to the tumor type, as well as to its site, size, and stage. Age and treatment type also played a role.
