Sticking to the Scientific Outlook on Development, Striving for a New Historical Leap-Forward of China Shipbuilding Industry Jin Zhuanglong Vice minister The Commission of science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, PRC Respected Mr. Chairman, ladies and gentlemen: We happily gather here to celebrate the grand opening ceremony of the MARINTEC CHINA 2005 exhibition and conference, which is the thirteenth of this great event held in China sponsored by the Commission of science, Technology and Industry for National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Communications of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. On behalf of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, I would like to send my warmest congratulations to this successful opening. And I am also happy to be given this chance to deliver a speech to exchange with you my opinions on the important issues for the development of China shipbuilding industry. The topic of my speech is “Sticking to the Scientific Outlook on Development, Striving for a New Historical Leap-Forward of China Shipbuilding Industry”. 1、A new development has been achieved for China shipbuilding industry in the period of the 10th Five-Year Plan Since entering the new century, continuous growth of the world economy has greatly stimulated the prosperous, strengthening the technological development, opening the market and deepening the institutional reform as well as pushing forward the management innovation, China shipbuilding industry has reached a new high in terms of its industrial scale and overall quality, which are mainly shown in the following three aspects.
