(Page 67) attempt为及物动词，意为“试图；企图；尝试”，后常接名词、代词或动词不定式。例如： I didn’t attempt the last question in the exam. She attempted to get in touch with her partner. 【拓展】 attempt还可以作名词，意为“企图；试图；尝试”。常与动词make搭配使用，make an attempt to do sth. / at sth. / at doing sth. 例如： He failed in his attempt to finish his homework on time. His first attempt at English composition was poor.
