Chapter 9 Insurance Learning Objectives General Introduction Specimen In international trade, marine insurance is the most commonly used insurance. One of the reasons for this is that ocean shipments are still exposed to a number of unique hazards. Insurance allows traders to proceed with confidence in the knowledge that each party of the transaction is properly protected. Risks covered under marine insurance are divided into the following two types: 1. Perils of the sea（海上风险） Natural Calamities（自然灾害） Fortuitous Accidents（意外事故） 2. Extraneous risks（外来风险） General Extraneous Risks（一般外来风险） Special Extraneous Risks（特殊外来风险） Marine losses include the following types: 1. Total Loss（全损） (1) Actual Total Loss（实际全损） (2) Constructive Total Loss（推定全损） 2. Partial Loss（部分损失） (1) General Average (G.A.)（共同海损） (2) Particular Average ( P.A.)（单独海损） Coverage of risks is divided into the following types: 1. The basic risks （基本险） (1) Free from Particular Average (F.P.A.)（平安险）, (2) With Average /With Particular Average (W.A. / W.P.A.)（水渍险）, (3) All Risks（一切险）, 2.
