This development results in the changes of people’s ideas of some traditional things such as traditional world view, sense of worth, outlook on life, sexual orientation and so on. People become more and more open.According to this chapter’s case which is talking about the diversity of military, it mentions that “In 1993, Bill Clinton signed legislation that prohibits the military from asking about the sexual orientation of service members but requires the discharge of service members who acknowledge being gay or are found engaging in homosexual activity, even in the privacy of their own homes.” This controversial policy proves the sexual orientation discrimination has become an important social issue these days. And there’s a verb LGBT in use since the 1990s which is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.
