He includes this section to tell his experience and background to let reader know why he wants to write the slaughterhouse five. The “persona” he constructs is a old person who recalls the past time and write a book to commemorate the important moments. The construction of his narrative often contains adventurous plot and the description of people and unique dialogue. In the Anthropology Department, “KV” learns that there are no ridiculous, bad, or disgusting people in the world. Mary thinks that when people engage in war, they are just like dolls.” I do not agree with his idea that wars are encouraged by books and movies. When people read books and movies, they can know cruel and inhuman actions of people and thus let people know the horror of war and incline to avoid war. Children’s Crusade is ignorant and cruel people and their motivations derive from bias and their paths are full of blood and tear. However, the literature exaggerate their behaviors and heroism. Dresden’s history is painful. The bombing of Dresden endures huge lost. His trip back to Dresden is beneficial for “KV”. Sodom and Gomorrah represent innocence and greatness which makes contrast with terrible situation. For “KV”, he think that the book a failure because he want to play a trick. He recalls the war, so he look back, which means that he can also be salt pillar. The description makes him a very human person. Chapter 2 Billy’s life do not follow chorological order but all of events interact together. “KV” thinks that Billy is normal person and nobody in war. Bill learns from Tralfamadorians that when people die, they just appear to die but their past is still energetic. Past, present and future all exist forever. We can go back. Time is not temporary. Billy first become” unstuck” in time in WW11 Bill position in the Army is priest assistant.
