Operational Policy/Procedures For RVSM In the Domestic U.S., Alaska, Offshore Airspace and the San Juan FIR November 24 Revision To May 31, 2004 FAA Notice (GEN 04005) November 24 Revision. This is revision 2 to the May 31, 2004 FAA Notice. The only significant changes from the October 27 version are contained in paragraph j (Policy/Procedures for Accommodation of Non-RVSM Aircraft). Center contact phone numbers and a website address have been added and in paragraph j2(a), it is noted that to be accommodated, Non-RVSM aircraft require an operational transponder. Explanation/Effective Date. The operational policy and procedures for Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) contained in this notice will be effective on January 20, 2005 at 0901 UTC. Paragraph “a.” (Applicability and RVSM Mandate) discusses their applicability in the airspace of the lower 48 states, Alaska, the San Juan FIR and Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico High Offshore Airspace. To harmonize North American RVSM policy/procedures to the maximum extent possible, the material has been coordinated with Canadian and Mexican authorities.
