Consequently, he has no alternative but to stay in the airport until the war has stopped. Background The film was adapted from the real story of a man called Nasseri , who arrived at Pairs’ Charles de Gaulle Airport in 1989. Unfortunately, he was required by the French authorities to stay at the terminal because his refugee papers were stolen then and he didn’t have any documents which could prove his identity. As a result, Nasseri lived there until 1996 when he received the refugee document. For those who were working in the airport, pilots who flew everywhere or passengers, he was considered as a sign of postmodernism.? In September 2003, Spielberg bought the rights to Nasseris life story as the basis for the film and Nasseri received thousands of dollars from the filmmakers.
