Methods The clinical data of surgical treatment for 87 patients (aged 70 and over) with gastrointestinal tumor complicated with cardiovascular disease were analyzed retrospectively. Results With perioperative management greatly emphasized, all patients had been assessed for the risk of surgery, ways of anesthesia and surgery time preoperatively, and consequently, no deaths or serious cardiovascular events occurred in surgery, except for 2 deaths during postoperative period. All the other patients had good recovery. Conclusion Complete and intensive preoperative preparation, the appropriate choice of operation and operation procedure, and effective method for the prevention and treatment of complications during perioperative period in senile patients of gastrointestinal tumor complicated with cardiovascular disease are critical to reduce the risk of surgery. 　　Key words: gastrointestinal tumor; cardiovascular disease; aged，70 and over; perioperative period; management 　　随着社会经济的发展及生活质量的不断提高，人的寿命不断延长。目前，胃肠道肿瘤新发患者约23%是高龄患者[1]，且高龄患者常合并高血压、冠心病、心律失常等心血管疾病，是引起围手术期各种并发症和死亡的重要因素之一。回顾
