To the poet, death would take away everything including fame and wealth, except the name. While his name was writ in water, which would disappear with nothing left when the wind is coming. Former residence of Keats Fanny Brawne Keats failing health and literary ambitions prevented their getting married. She was mourning for Keats for seven years, and wore the ring that Keats sent to her for engagement till the last moment of her life. Part 1.Brief introduction 1.2 Background of writing this poem Written in 1819 and first published in January 1820, one of Keat’s “Five great odes of 1819”. Five odes: Ode to Psyche Ode to a Nightingale Ode on Melancholy Ode on Grecian Urn Ode to Autumn During 1818-1819,Keats’s creation ability was highly improved because of difficulties in his life and his poor health. Inspiration source A visit by Keats to exhibition of the Elgin Marble Keats’s experiences with the aesthetic theories of Benjamin Haydon and his collections of Grecian prints.
