功能对等原则Functional Equivalence，以 美国著名翻译理论家尤金·奈达Eugene Nida为代 表。 功能对等原则有“理想标准” ideal或“最高标 准”maximal和“现实标准”realistic或“最低标准” minimal之分。 理想标准要求：译作对译文读者产生的效果 与原作对原文读者产生的效果完全一致 The readers of a translated text should be able to understand and appreciate it in essent- ially the same manner as the original readers did. 现实标准要求：译作对译文读者产生的效果 是：有可能自己体会到原作对原文读者必定会产 生怎样的效果 The readers of a translated text should be able to comprehend it to the point that they can conceive of how the original readers of the text must have understood and appreciate it.
