I  Abstract Project management is an inevitable topic for modern enterprises. Its success or failure concerns the survival and development of enterprises. With more and more competition about the market economy in China, modern enterprises are facing such important topics as improving the ability of project management, improving the competitive ability of product and preventing the risks in the operation of enterprises. Firstly, the basic theory of modern project management is analyzed in the paper. And its role of project management is analyzed in the society. After that, the application of project management is studied in the paper about the development of semi-conductor equipment in details. And some mistakes is clarified about project management of semi-conductor equipment. Then, the factors of influencing project management application .is studied. As a result, people would have more much understanding about project management. Finally, by analyzing the national and international market of semi-conductor equipment, and according to self working experience of project management about semi-conductor equipment, if enterprises want to improve its technical innovation ability, it is very important to strengthen the plan of projec
