In 1989, he studied in Australia and started a career in interior design. In 1994, he returned to China and established his own design studio. Today he is the chief designer of OPAL Furniture Company, the Deputy Director of the China Furniture Design Committee and Director of the Shanghai Furniture Design Committee. 工作室介绍Design Studio 澳珀工作室是一幢由朱小杰设计的办公楼，约5000多平方米。由展示厅、设计室及样品制作车间组成。主要从事家具设计，解决工艺流程，完成样品制作。让工厂可以按规范的图纸进行批量生产。 澳珀工作室拥有各种技能的员工30多人，其中有平面设计师、家具设计师、室内设计师、建筑设计师、制图工程师及摄影师。最重要的一点是，它拥有一批具有传统手艺的木工师傅、木雕师傅、油漆师傅、缝纫师傅和机械工程师，是中国唯一具备这样系统的设计工作室。The Opal studio is located in an office building (approximately 5000 square meters) designed by XiaoJie. It has an exhibition hall, offices, sample workshops, etc. An important feature of the design area is that everything can be accomplished here—samples to mass production. Opal studio employs more than 30 people in creative areas: graphic designers, engineers, photographers, architects and interior designers as well as traditional craftsmen, sewers and painters.
