In this period first we will have a listening.During this section the teacher may tell the students some listening strategies,as it is the first listening lessons.As we all know,listening is a primary skill in learning a language.It comes the first among the four basic skills,i.e.listening,speaking,reading, and writing.Therefore it is very important for the students to listen in the right way.Then we’ll do a short pronunciation practice,paying attention to the word stress.At last,we’ll come to speaking.In speaking,we’ll play a game of guessing scientists’ names.First,the students may think of a famous scientist or inventor and some information about his life.Some questions about scientists are given as examples.Then work with another pair.Guess who pair B is describing by asking yes or no questions.Pair work will be involved in this part and more practice will be encouraged.
