Traditional Potawatomi Homelands Potawatomi Way of Life They were a river people depending on it’s life giving force of water for drinking, growing crops and providing easy transportation routes for travel and trade. They were agricultural growing corn, beans and squash Corn was the staple crop and was traded with the French and other tribes The farming was done by women Rivers of Indiana Why Indian Removal?
