Management?Policy?of?Postgraduates?as Teaching?Assistant,?SII Position Establishment All academic faculty members and English Support Centre as a group are allowed to apply teaching assistants when the students are more than 200, or they have more than 3 subjects in each semester. Requirements Applicants should be in excellent academic performances and in good personality, as well as in a strong sense of responsibility Applicants must be good at expressing, organizing and communicating in English. Applicants have to get the agreement from their supervisors. Applicants did take some similar courses before applying. Applicants only could apply one position in each semester. The period for teaching assistant is one semester. Procedure Lectures should apply for teaching assistants at the end of former semester and fill in the application form in attachment 1. Please hand in your application form to Ms Xu Zhao in Lijin Building 217 before 5:00pm Jan 4, 2015. Associate Dean and Director will deal with the application. The position will be posted on website of SII after permission. Applicants could apply for the position and hand in the materials, including academic performance and application form in attachment 2. Students?application?will?be?considered?with?priority?if?they?apply?to?be?the?teaching?assistant?of?their?personal?supervisor.? After the first shortlist, Director and lectures will make the decision, and then the final name list will be posted on the website of SII. Responsibility of Teaching Assistant Teaching assistants should attend the lectures to follow the teaching contents and help lectures in some aspects. In the direction of lecturers, teaching assistants are responsible for marking, answering questions, invigilating, inducting team work and so on.
