Classical Lao She and classics of Lao She 　　Lao She is an author who has many works. He has made great contributions to literature like novel， prose and drama. Meanwhile， he deserves to be one of the Chinese modern writers whose works are widely involved in different art fields and are adapted to many other art forms. His works adapted to films are This Life of Mine， Dragon Beard Ditch，Fang Zhenzhu， Rickshaw Boy， Teahouse， Crescent Moon， Divorce and The Drum Singers， etc.. Compared with the easily adapted novels and dramas， Lao She’s prose works， seen from the art form， are relatively stable. But from the perspective of publishing， they exist in several ways of time on earth. 　　According to Shu Ji， Humorous Work Collection of Lao She that includes 35 works was published by Shanghai Times Books in April 1934， which is the first humorous prose collection of Lao She. In the 1980s， Joint Publishing （H.K.） was willing to republish the second edition this book， with another five works included in， totaling 40 works， and invited Fang Cheng， a cartoon master， to draw illustrations. The book was again published 6 times after its publication in 1982. In 1983， Hunan People’s Publishing House published this book again， in which 65 essays are included in. In 1990， Hainan Publishing House found Shu Ji for it wanted to publish a humorous prose collection with more contents. Thus， Shu Ji extracted all humorous works from materials collected for editing the Collection of Lao She to edit Humorous Work Collection of Lao She that includes 126 works. In 2003， Peoples Literature Publishing House where Shu Ji once worked republished this book in January 2004， totally including 31 poetries， 145 essays， and 132 pictures. 　　Ten years have passed since the Humorous Work Collection of Lao She was published by the People’s Literature Publishing House， during which no one thought of publishing the humorous works of Lao She again.
