Let Us Smile The thing that goes the farthest toward making life worthwhile, That costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile. The smile that bubbles from the heart that loves its fellow men, Will drive away the clouds of gloom and coax the sun again. Itˇs full of worth and goodness, too, with manly kindness blend; Itˇs worth a million dollars, and it doesnˇt cost a cent. There is no room for sadness when we see a cheery smile; It always has the same good look; itˇs never out of style; It nerves us on to try again when failure makes us blue; The dimples of encouragement are good for me and you. A smile comes very easy  you can wrinkle up with cheer, A hundred times before you can squeeze out a salty tear; It ripples out, moreover, to the heartstrings that will tug, And always leaves an echo that is very like a hug. So, smile away! Folks understand what by a smile is meant; Itˇs worth a million dollars, and it doesnˇt coast a cent. Never Give up We often hear people say, ¨Never give up.〃 These can be encouraging words and words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying to reach his goal no matter how many times his fails. In my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. Therefore, I believe that we should never give up. One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieve anything. It is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we shouldnˇt feel discouraged and should try again. Besides, if we always give up when we fail, we wonˇt be able to develop new skills and grow. Another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort. If we donˇt try again, the lesson we have learned is wasted. Finally, we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed in other areas of our lives.
