Dredging pass is defined by an operation concluding with post-dredging sampling, while “cut” is every layer removed by the dredge. GE effectively had multiple cuts per pass when they performed fine grading separated from the primary cut of the dredge pass by dredging contractor cut line verification bathymetry. This involved re-location of the dredge back to previously dredged areas prior to certification sampling.
